Actually, Alsoomse isn't a Templar. Her actual alliance isn't made explicit, but seeing as she fought for her people's freedom, she's more likely to be an ally of the assassins. Anyways, awesome cosplay
Considering Alsoomse is the AC3 version of the Vanguard (both in character animation and weapon, adding she has a cross on her back on the artwork/render and her description on the AC wikia is "even willing to die for the ideals that she believed in.", which is the common thing (ideals) said for templars and their new world. Also, we went to Ubisoft Annecy during last november, and they told us they work on the templar part on the game as if they really were Abstergo Entertainment. And they always used templar agents in their Animi program, why the hell would they have 3 or 4 native characters in the game who are not templars while all the others are...
The fact that her animations and specialty weapon are the same as that of the Vanguard doesn't really have anything to do with her being a Templar or Assassin imo. The cross on her back in the artwork/render is probably just one randomly selected out of all the possible insignias, which doesn't jar with anything else in the outfit; it's not even shaped like the actual templar cross. Whether those ideals are the same ideals as the Templars isn't stated. And, given her status as a champion for justice, truth and the Native American (of whom we know that they weren't affiliated with Templars, barring one known exception, the Coyote Man), it seems unlikely that she'd work for the Templars. Erudito even suggests her violent temper and fearlessness led to her killing several members of the Templar Order (this comes from her 'hacked biography'). As for Ubisoft Annecy, the multiplayer component is explained in-universe as a game published by 'Abstergo Entertainment', it's no longer specifically about training templar agents. As a result, not all multiplayer avatars needed to be affiliated with the Templars; the Redcoat, the Commander, the Hessian and the Lady Maverick are some of the characters that had ties to the templars. By contrast, the Huntsman, the Pioneer, the Robber, the Silent Shadow and the Sharpshooter are all linked to the Assassins (sometimes, they aren't outright members but simply allies). Finally, some don't seem to be affiliated with either faction such as the Bear and the Strong Man.
